Lefkada is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea, known for its amazing beaches, capes and bays that serve as natural harbor. Lefkada belongs to the Eptanisa Islands, located between Corfu and Cephalonia, and near the west coast of Greece.
In order to cross from the mainland to the island, you have to cross a 50 meters long bridge. When you arrive at Lefkada, you will be enchanted by the beauty and unusual relief of the island. The highest peak is Stavrota (1182 m), then Elati (1126 m) and St Lias (1014) in third place. On the western side of the island, which is quite steep, there are many long sandy beaches. Also, here you can see fertile valleys and canyons with rich vegetation; everywhere you can see olive trees, cypresses, various types of pine trees, aromatic plants and rare species of flowers.
This island offers: an unbeatable sandy beaches, such as Egremni, Porto Katsiki, Katisma, Vasiliki, Yialos, Milos, the sea in shades of turquoise, the nature of incredible diversity – a true paradise.
The long sandy beach surrounded by cliff-walls makes this beach the most beautiful beach on the entire island, and perhaps the most beautiful in the whole of Greece. The beach is more than 2.5 km long and thanks to its length and to its 20 to 50m width, it’s practically impossible to get crowded. The water is turquoise with fine sand and fine gravel. It often happens that the wind blows on this beach and waves can reach up to 3 meters in height.
How to get there
Lefkada is the capital town of the island. It is approximately 20 minutes away from Aktion National Airport by car. This beautiful beach is about 30 kilometers south of the capital of Lefkada, on the western coast. The beach can be reached by car, which can be rented on the island. From the car park, 350 steps lead you to the beach. The stairs are made of stone, steep, and the last 50 are wooden. Because of the steep steps, we advise you to go to this beach equipped withsneakers, and just take the basic stuff.
